SOLUTION

Oncology nurses are highly trained healthcare workers that administer chemotherapy and radiation treatments to cancer patients. They’re also in charge of keeping track of cancer patients’ vital signs and overall health, as well as supporting them with pain management and reducing side effects while they’re receiving treatment (Johansen &Ervik, 2018). As an oncology nurse, I first perform a physical examination of the patient to look for any anomalies suggesting malignancy. Other assessments include blood and urine tests and imaging scans such as MRIs, ultrasounds, and CT scans. We also do one or more biopsies to examine tissues for cancer cells. The assessments are comprehensive in that they include the history of the patient, vital signs, and physical examination. The total reviews act as a guide towards offering supportive and appropriate care to the patients.

Typically, we deal with patients from all age groups, but the older people tend to be more. To obtain an accurate health history and physical examination of this population, I ensure that I request previous medical records of the patient, use open-ended questions that encourage comprehensive responses…..please click the purchase button below to access the entire solution at $5
