Purpose

The purpose of this discussion is to discuss what transcultural nursing means to each student.

Course Outcome

This discussion enables the student to meet the following course outcome:

  • CO 1: Identify theories, concepts, and beliefs related to transcultural nursing. (PO 1)
  • During the assigned week (Sunday the start of the assigned week through Sunday the end of the assigned week):
    • Posts in the discussion at least two times, and
    • Posts in the discussion on two different days

As a nurse, I’ve had to learn how to communicate effectively with patients who come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. I practice transcultural nursing by attending to each patient as a person with unique requirements and preferences.
